I am posting this question for the 2nd time, because the answer the moderator provided at the 1st time does not match with my WordPress. To avoid doubts, I use Windows 10 and the problem happens in both Google Chrome and Firefox, but probably the problem I show happen in any OS and browser. It is also common to Pages and Posts. Let’s go to it:

The Dashboard’s toolbar (the horizontal line at its top with black background) almost always has an icon ahead of the text of each of it’s tools. When the browser’s screen displaing the Dashboard is wide, this toolbar displays for each tool both its icon and its text. When the browser’s screen displaing the Dashboard is narrow, this toolbar displays for each tool only its icon. This is ok and means that each tool must have an icon in order to be available when the browser’s screen is narrow.

At the ‘EDIT PAGE’ of any page, the ‘VIEW PAGE’ TOOL does not have an icon and this means that this tool is not available when the browser’s screen is narrow.

My request is that you include an icon for this tool to make it also available when the browser’s screen is narrow. I think an eye would be a nice drawing for it.

I have not tested all other Dashboard pages to see it there is another tool without an icon, but I believe you should take advantage of the occasion to verify this.

Thanks a lot for this great software that WordPress is. Best regards.

The “Edit Page” link has the same icon as the “Edit Post” link. Specifically the one that looks like a pencil. This one:

    My reply:

No Otto, it seems you did not paid the needed attention to what you read. I did not told any time about any ‘EDIT PAGE’ LINK (which are at the ‘View Pages’), I clearly told about the ‘VIEW PAGE’ TOOL of the ‘Edit Page’, and the problem remains 8 month after.

I would like to send a capture of the screen to prove it, but for a reason that I can not understand, it seems that this forum does not allow this kind of feedback. This is indeed surprising taking in account the arrival of Gutenberg, since it is not possible to give a link to a problem at the ‘EDIT PAGE’.

Let’s clear up a few things.

The forum software automatically closes topics that are quite old like your thread is. It’s not that your feedback is not allowed, it’s that you tried responding to an 8 month-old topic and found the thread was closed.

Let’s also not make this personal about Otto. Otto is a volunteer and tried to help you with your feedback. If something was misinterpreted then you can re-explain the issue again in different wording. What you’ve done is copied and pasted the same topic instead.

I am not making anything personal, I only addressed the same person that answered my previous post. No problem if another person deals with my request.

Indeed, because I consider that I was very clear from the 1st time. If you did not undestand, say what and I will try to clarify even more.

Well, I believe the following link proves my words.

As I have said since nothing less than the proper TITLE of my post:

The Edit Page lacks an icon for the ‘View Page’ Tool. The absence of this icon erases this tool when the window is narrow. Is it clear now?
